Dell has pulled a ninja act with the latest release of both the 24" UltraSharp U2410 and ST2410 LCD monitors in the US market. The former is the company's first almost fully color-accurate display at 24" courtesy of its IPS (in-plane switching) panel that is able to handle 100% of the sRGB color space in addition to 96% of Adobe RGB - impressive. In addition, it boasts its personal color calibration capability and comes with 80,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (1,000:1 static) with 12-bit internal color rendering. Connectivity options for this include DisplayPort, DVI and HDMI for fully digital sources and component, RCA and VGA for analog. As for the cheaper ST2410, this model relies on a less color-rich twisted nematic panel, hence resulting in 50,000:1 contrast ratio, DVI, HDMI and VGA connectivity. The UltraSharp U2410 and ST2410 will retail for $599 and $259, respectively.
